As Australian native bees vary so much in size they are able to pollinate a wide variety of plants, unlike the European honey bees which can be restricted by size. Some crops for example Macadamia are largely dependent on native bees as their size allows them to effectively pollinate the flowers.
Examples of flowers that bees love are
- Mairigolds – Tagetes
- Bacopa – Bacopa monnieri
- Lavender – Lavandula
- Tea tree – Leptospermum
- Pig face – Carpobrotus
- Honey Myrtle – Melaleuca
- Ixora – Ixora coccinea
- Bottle Brush – Callistemon
- Gum Trees – Eucalyptus and Angophora
- Spider Flower – Grevillea
We also have a pre made flower seed mix specifically designed for attracting Stingless Australian Native Bees here.
